Find out more about the sprint:
Distance in 0-100 km / h and back again.

Example: Focus RS2 does 0-100 in 5.7 seconds.

The actual performance will be a distance slightly larger than the equation suggests.

In the example, the car would take a distance of approximately 130m

Acceleration 0-100 km / h

Seconds Meters

5,7 130,00
9,0 205,26

So pull your car up in 9 seconds from 0-100 km / h then you put a distance of roughly 200 meters away.

Braking distance from 100 to 0 km / h

34 m by Focus RS2
76 m minimum braking distance including safety margin, according to data from 3VO

Much therefore depends on a lot of factors to think about stopping distances:

  • weight of the car
  • diameter, thickness and cooling of the disks
  • quality, composition and temperature of the brake pads
  • maximum brake pressure
  • brake force distribution
  • shocks
  • ties
  • wheels
  • weight
